EVDH IN-HOUSE CANINE ADOPTION PROGRAM

Founded in 2008, this program has successfully placed over 120 dogs in Austin, Big Spring, Del Rio, and Eagle Pass! Adopting a dog from a shelter can be a challenge. Evaluating an animal's personality in a shelter is difficult due to many factors.  The stress and boredom of being in a kennel can cause behavior problems to develop, and dogs in shelters are more prone to infectious diseases.

Recognizing these challenges, we have developed a series of medical and behavioral examinations for each Wags to Riches Adoptee. After candidates have passed a thorough examination, they are available for adoption. The $150 adoption fee includes all services listed below.

• Medical Examination

• Blood parasite test

• Heartworm test

• Spayed or neutered

• Dental exam and cleaning

• Administer to any special needs

• Behavioral Assessment

• One-week in-home observation

• Interaction with other dogs

• Dog/child interaction

• Food aggressive evaluation

• Separation anxiety
